Rende Progress Capital (RPC) is a racial equity focused Loan Fund and an emerging Community Development Financial Institution promoting economic equity to Excluded Entrepreneurs [African-American, Hispanic/Latino, Asian-American, Native American and Immigrants who face barriers to conventional lending due to bias and other market realities] through racial equity commercial lending to their businesses.  RPC integrates practices of inclusion, racial equity and cultural competency into our financial services and programs for Excluded Entrepreneur borrowers.

RPC Hiring

RPC is growing in our award-winning and impactful racial equity lending and programs.  As a result, RPC is currently hiring for our Opportunity and Lending Officer, and new positions of Portfolio Manager and Administrative Assistant [Part-Time].  RPC is an emerging racial equity Loan Fund and Community Development Financial Institution that has received recognition and awards such as '2019 Newsmaker of the Year" in Finance by the Grand Rapids Business Journal and has experienced a FY 2019-2020 339% increase in loans deployed to Excluded Entrepreneurs of Color in our mission to eliminate the racial wealth gap through our small business lending.  A Grand Rapids, Michigan based entity founded and managed by professionals of color, our loan products and programs are dedicated to the challenging and rewarding work of providing Excluded Entrepreneurs with access to capital for their business to grow and thrive.  We look forward to new team members dedicated to such a mission at the nation's only racial equity loan fund.

Opportunity and Lending Officer

The RPC Opportunity and Lending Officer is responsible for recommending RPC business loan applications of Excluded Entrepreneurs for approval.  Excluded Entrepreneurs are African-Americans, Latino, Asians, Native Americans and Immigrants who face barriers to conventional lending due to real or perceived racial bias.   The Opportunity and Lending Officer is the loan officer managing the RPC loan process, loan applications, loan origination, aspects of underwriting and aspects of portfolio management.  

 

In addition to the directly conducting independent work of the above, the RPC Opportunity and Lending Officer is an essential role in partnering with the RPC Business Development Director in cultivating and engaging with businesses as potential loan applicants as well as interacting with current RPC loan customers.

Portfolio Manager

The RPC Portfolio Manager manages the RPC loan portfolio with financial due diligence and optimal performance through loan portfolio monitoring of loans to RPC Excluded Entrepreneurs. Excluded Entrepreneurs are African-Americans, Latino, Asians, Native Americans and Immigrants who face barriers to conventional lending due to real or perceived racial bias and other market realities. The RPC Portfolio Manager ensures that RPC conducts authentic, open and culturally competent relationships with our small business loan customers in matters of risk management and risk mitigation matters [dealing with customer payment delinquencies, past dues, work-out plans, etc].

 

In addition to the directly conducting independent work of portfolio financial/risk-management and racial equity step analysis of loan applicants, the RPC Portfolio Manager is an essential role in reviewing loan underwriting and any restructuring and modification of loans.

Administrative Assistant

The RPC Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the RPC Managing Director and the RPC Team by administering internal and external assistance of office operations to ensure that RPC provides high-quality engagement, services and office functions to enhance the mission of RPC as a provider of services and lending to Excluded Entrepreneur RPC clients.  Excluded Entrepreneurs are African-Americans, Latino, Asians, Native Americans and Immigrants who face barriers to conventional lending due to real or perceived racial bias and other market realities. 

 

The RPC Administrative Assistant also performs important and critical functions in the areas of scheduling for the Managing Director, budgeting and financial document data entry and filing, document filing and functions to assist the General Manager in areas such as processing payroll, vendor payments, and writing, review and editing of documents.
